7 August 2021 – An Introduction to Spelling to Communicate (S2C) Online Workshop

This was the most successful online workshop hosted by ETHAN to date. With 65 online participants and close to 100 people who were unable to attend on the day, but were able to watch the recorded link, we were joined by people from as far as Kenya, Australia, and India.

20 February 2021 – Positive Behavioural Support Online Workshop

Dr Cobie Lombard presented this workshop on Positive Behavioural Support for parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals. It was well attended and enjoyed by all. Dr Cobie shared practical approaches to behavioural analysis, motivation and reinforcement, as well as how to design a positive support program for autistic children.

6 November 2020 – Self Regulation Online Workshop

ETHAN hosted our second online workshop on Self-Regulation presented by Hybrie Burger. This workshop ran smoothly and was well attended by parents, caregivers, teachers, and professionals. Hybrie introduced them to the Zones of Regulation Curriculum which was developed by Leah Kuypers as well as practical tools for co-regulation and self-regulation of young autistics.

29 February and 1 March 2020 – DIR Floortime Introduction Workshop

The Developmental, Individual Differences, Relationship model (also known as DIR® and DIRFloortime®), developed by Dr Stanley Greenspan and Dr Serena Wieder, has changed the way development in children is viewed. The goal of DIR® is to enable children with sensory processing challenges and autism to form a sense of themselves. It also helps parents, carers, teachers to identify developmental gaps to improve the level and quality of interaction, communication, and connection with their child.
